Roles and permissions overview

Understanding the permission model for technicians, supervisors, and admins.

admin

Who this is for

System Administrators and HR Managers.

Before you start

  • Identify the personnel types in your organization
  • Review the standard FLUXO role definitions

Standard Roles

FLUXO uses a role-based access control (RBAC) model. Permissions are bundled into roles that align with industrial operations:

  • Technician: Field execution, evidence capture, and work order close-out.
  • Supervisor: Work planning, assignment, and inspection scheduling.
  • Manager: Reporting, KPI review, and module policy configuration.
  • Administrator: System settings, user management, and module enablement.

Steps to Assign Roles

  1. Navigate to Personnel > Users.
  2. Select a user record and click Edit.
  3. Choose the appropriate Role from the dropdown menu.
  4. Assign the user to one or more Sites to define their data scope.
  5. Save changes to apply the new permissions immediately.

What to check next

  • Verify user access by logging in with a test account
  • Review site-level data visibility policies

Common mistakes

  • Assigning Administrative roles to field staff
  • Forgetting to assign a site scope after assigning a role
  • Using "Manager" roles for users who only need to execute work
